Events can be booked many Saturdays or Special Event Weeks as identified on the calendar.
The evening includes a detailed demonstration from the instructor on proper technique in centering, throwing and shaping on the pottery wheel. the group is divided into pairs where each person will take turns throwing on a wheel to make their first piece. A second demonstration will be provided followed by an opportunity for the participants to make a second piece. At the end of the class the group can select which glazes they would like the instructor to use on the pieces.
The instructor will take the pieces, trim them so they have a nice clean bottom, glaze and fire the pieces. The pieces should be ready about three weeks later for pick-up.
Additional cost are only applied for participants that request handles elaborate glazing or additional pieces. Participants should expect a minimum of (1) finished piece for each participant to be ready but more often two (2).
The booking can be made on Fridays &/or Saturdays and last between 2 & 3 hours, There is a maximum of 16 participants, all tools and 2@350g cubes of clay are provided to each participant.
The cost for the event is;
$70/person for 6-9 people
$60/person for 10-13 people
$50/person for 13-16 people
Participants can bring food and drinks but alcohol is NOT allowed.
